Final Assessment - Photoshop Contest
The one thing I hate about landmarks is that they're constantly crowded with tourists. Day in, day out, you can barely see all those monuments and great buildings because Carol and Roger from Podunk, Connecticut are always in the way.
But just imagine if you were hiking along a forest trail all alone in the middle of nowhere, and you turned a corner only to find the Lincoln Memorial towering above you. Or you were deep sea diving and you found the Empire State Building in a deep, dark fissure.
The rules of this contest are:
You are to take any famous landmark, building or structure and relocate it to a foreign location (i.e. the Taj Mahal on the moon or the Golden Gate Bridge over Niagara Falls).
You have 1.5 hours to complete your photo. Once completed, save it as a jpeg with your student number as the file name and upload it here.

Apr 3 - After Effects
We will be breaking into two groups - 1) those with after effects experience and 2) those new to after effects.
Group 1)
You have the freedom to decide what skills you would like to further develop in after effects. Find a tutorial you'd like to complete (here and here are good places to look). Once completed, show me the tutorial and your finished project so you can get credit for it. If you need video footage there is some available in the shared network folder.
Group 2)
We are going to start with the bare basics. Today you are going to watch some video tutorials and better familiarize yourself with the after effects interface.
Work through these at your own pace. Make sure to explore after effects as the tutorials are for CS4 and we are using CS6.

Sept 14 - Project Proposal
Because we all seem to have different interests in this class you are going to design your own project proposal. You will need to write a proposal and get approval from me before you start working on your project. Click here to download a copy of the proposal.
Sept 10 - Photoshop.
This assignment is your chance to play with photoshop and show me what you know.
For those of you with more photoshop experience your task is to find a landscape picture and turn it into something new. See this photoshop contest on this website for an example: (they took a picture of a Scottish rock formation and turned it into a new picture).
For those of you with limited photoshop experience your task is to play around with some of the tools and functions in photoshop. I want you to play around and get a better understanding of what photoshop can do. Take a look at the tutorials on this website and start with the one that seems to be at the level that you are at.
